From the start of the new education year, Windesheim University in Zwolle (the Netherlands) will be using Omniplayer radio automation software for journalism training. The software will be rolled out through the university’s production and play-out chain.

Charles Rossingh, Team Leader of Media Facilities for Journalism Training: “M&I’s software has been running smoothly at Windesheim for years. OmniPlayer is therefore a logical next step for us, especially with it being the new standard in the Netherlands. We want to teach prospective journalists to work with the same software they’ll eventually encounter in the field. The integrated SmartTrack audio editor provided with OmniPlayer is a plus in that respect. In addition, OmniPlayer integrates perfectly with our Axia mixing tables and the LiveWire + AoIP protocol."

Peter van Klei, Commercial Director of M&I Broadcast services: “We believe it is important that the new generation of journalists learn about our software at an early stage. That way, it’s not just them who learn, but us too. Feedback from the new, younger generation is very important to us and we take their ideas into account when developing new applications and updates.”
